Conservative renovation works, with seismic improvement and energy efficiency interventions, serving a condominium building, located in Largo San Marco n.3 in the municipality of Vieste
Summary of analysis of the existing relief state
A geometric survey was carried out with a laser scanner technique, in order to evaluate the correct complex geometry of the building envelope as well as limited wall investigations necessary for the classification of the wall facings present.
From the inspections carried out, an almost regularity is found both in plan and in elevation, with the presence of load-bearing walls, present in both layouts in plan, at all levels of the building. Limited damage was found throughout the building envelope and a series of static vulnerabilities, due to partial variations in the internal thickness of the wall partitions, carried out over the years, for the construction of internal niches in various rooms of the building. The horizontal lines of the building were created with wall vaults of different types for the scaffolding of the ground and first floors and are thrusting, mainly towards the side elevations of via Daniele Manin and via Cocciardi, where in the latter street a series of steel tie rods with cornerstones. The horizontal structure of the second floor, relating to the roof slab, was created in brick-concrete, through reinforced concrete beams cast on site and lightening elements, made with pots, as a modification carried out over time, are in a state of advanced corrosion, such to have ascertained the presence of loose floors. The wall vaults do not show any particular lesions or signs of excessive deformation, in some there was only evidence of the presence of mold and phenomena of detachment of the plaster.
Objectives of the seismic improvement intervention
The seismic improvement of the building was carried out on the entire structure, through interventions aimed at reducing the seismic vulnerabilities detected, consisting of:
– increase in the mechanical characteristics of the walls through masonry injections and/or reinforced plasters;
– interventions to eliminate the vulnerabilities found, through the reconstruction of wall partitions with compatible materials based on structural lime or lightweight concrete with a low elastic modulus;
– elimination of rotting phenomena detected in the wall vaults;
– reinforcement of the roof slab, through new reinforced concrete perimeter curbs;
-. encircling of some walls for overturning phenomena with FRP elements;
– structural reinforcement of masonry arches;
The seismic improvement interventions envisaged in this project are compatible with the objectives inherent to the architectural recovery and conservative restoration intervention envisaged in the general project and with the requirements of the landscape opinion issued by the Landscape Superintendence.
